There are two official Evergrace novels known to have been written, both of which are in Japanese. The two authors responsible for their creation are Kaeko Shimomura and Mie Takase.
As the novels are in Japanese, Darius and Sharline will be referred to by their respective Japanese names, Yuterald and Shalami.
Kaeko Shimomura novelization[]
The translation of the accompanying blurb for the novel is as follows:
The novelization of the popular PS2 game Evergrace is finally here... An adventure into the creation and destruction of the Empire begins with the cursed Crest bearer Yuterald. Can Yuterald return to his original world with Shalami?
The plot of the novel deviates from the game in many ways, such as giving more importance on saving the princess-turned-monster Xenovius, or rescuing the emotionless child Trandin from the grasp of Morpheus. Some locations are altered and reached in a different order than the game. Characters such as Orladin and Medina also team up with Darius for parts of the adventure. Most notably, Sharline joins Darius much earlier in the story - though giving depth to their thoughts and actions, their relationship has changed significantly from a once happy childhood.
Aside from being a novelization of the events of Evergrace, the novel also shines a light on Darius's childhood, as well as the events that occur with Darius, Felkin, and Ruyan right before Darius is brought to the Rieubane Empire. New minor characters are introduced, and more detail is given to existing characters. Lastly, the novel goes into further detail about the events that transpire after the game, leaning heavier into the political turmoil that pervades Fontraile.

Mie Takase novelization[]
This novel is known as Evergrace: The Man Who Assumes the Crest
(エヴァーグレイス クレストを負いし者 Evāgureisu Kuresuto o Oishimono). It was printed in 2000, and spans 242 pages. Mie Takase, the author, went on to write the story for Forever Kingdom.
It not only features Darius and Sharline, but also Ruyan, Saris and Felkin -- as Ryana, Alftaein and Felk respectively.
The book is currently out of print, and is therefore very rare.
